Abstract:

The global financial crisis was a major shock for everyone. In order to prevent any further distress, central banks came with bold new measures how to safeguard the financial system. Such actions have been very consequential. The central objective of this thesis is to look at the consequences for large asset management companies, PIMCO and BlackRock, which have faced immense tailwinds but also headwinds.
