Non-standard forms of work - Green Ways s.r.o. as an example

Abstract:

Cílem práce je reflexe proměn povahy práce v postmoderní době v souvislosti s rozšiřováním jejích nestandardních forem. Diplomantka zpracovává téma s ohledem na genderovanost trhu práce v České republice. Na konkrétním příkladu pracovníků a pracovnic firmy Green ways s. r. o. (GW) rozebírá diplomantka rizika a benefity těchto nestandardních forem. Analýza vychází ze základního zjištění, že v prodeji výrobků GW se angažují především ženy, a promýšlí příčiny této genderové asymetrie. Text prezentuje, kdo je typickým prodejcem/prodejkyní firmy GW a jak rozhodování pro tuto formu práce souvisí s motivací ke sladění pracovního a rodinného života. Diplomantka využívá obsahové analýzy materiálů firmy GW, kde zkoumá způsoby utváření identity obchodního pracovníka/pracovnice GW. Analýza dále vede k odpovědi na otázku, jakým způsobem filozofie materiálů popisujících síťový marketing konstruuje rizika a benefity nestandardních forem práce. Pomocí dotazníku diplomantka zjišťuje, do jaké míry pracovní diskurs firmy vede k internalizaci dispozic neoliberálních hodnot práce. V závěru dochází k propojení dat z obsahové analýzy s těmi dotazníkovými, což vede ke zjištění, že deklarace svobody a rovnosti může sloužit jako nástroj symbolické nadvlády vedoucí k disciplinaci jedinců a internalizaci určitých myšlenkových schémat. Přínosem práce je analýza sociálního prostoru firmy, kde pracovní narativ komunity upevňuje sepětí kategorie moci a vědění, kde se pod deklarací svobody a rovnosti nacházejí mocenské struktury, které udržují genderovaný status quo trhu práce.

Abstract:

The main aim of this thesis is to reflex changes in the nature of work in the postmodern time. This issue is analyzed in relation to non-standard forms of work. The student considers genderization of the labor market in the Czech Republic. The organization Green ways s.r.o. (GW) serves as an example of non-standard forms of work. The analysis is based on the fact that sellers of the GW products are mostly women. This thesis deals with the causes of such gender asymmetry. The text answers a question of who is a typical seller of the firm GW and how the motivation to harmonize work and family influences the decision to do this job. The student uses content analysis of adjectives to question how the identity of a GW seller is constructed. Further, the analysis researches philosophy of GW´s materials, which describe multi-level marketing, to see the influence on constructing risks and benefits of this non-standard form of work. A questionnaire is used to find out how a working discourse of the company internalizes certain dispositions at the perception of work values. In conclusion, the data of the content analysis and the questionnaire are united. It has been found that the declaration of freedom and equality can serve as a tool of a symbolic domination, disciplinarisation? of social actor and internalization of certain mind schemes? The paper can be seen as a contribution to analysis of the social space where working narrative of community consolidates a category of power and knowing. In these terms, the power structures are hidden beneath the declaration of freedom and equality which maintain gendered status quo of labor work.
