The reflection of provenance charges in the psefitic and psammitic sedimentary fraction of the Myslejovice Formation ( heavy mineral analysis)

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na sedimenty myslejovického souvrství, které představují svrchní část klastických sedimentů Drahanské vrchoviny (spodnokarbonská kulmská sedimentární pánev). Granát, Crspinel a monazit z drob a valouny ze slepenců byly studovány za účelem prosouzení provenience klastického materiálu a jeho chování během diageneze. Valounové složení slepenců se výrazně mění od nejspodnější části račických slepenců (leukokrátní ortoruly s muskovitem, ryolity a dacity > granitoidy, kontaktní rohovce, klastické sedimenty) přes jejich hlavní část (leukokrátní ortoruly s muskovitem, granitoidy > ryolity a dacity, kontaktní rohovce) až po lulečské slepence (vysoce metamorfované horniny a granitoidy). Postupná změna ve složení račických slepenců je odrazem prohlubující se eroze v rámci jedné snosové oblasti, zatímco změna při přechodu z račických slepenců do lulečských souvisí se změnou provenience. Změna ve složení valounů je doprovázená i změnou v chemismu detritických granátů a Cr-spinelů. Asociace detritických granátů spodní části myslejovického souvrství jsou polymiktní a obsahují granáty rozmanitého chemismu. Dramatická změna v chemismu detritických granátů následuje přechod mezi račickými a lulečskými slepenci. Polymiktní asociace se mění přes úzkou přechodnou zónu na asociace pyrop-almandinové, typické pro svrchní část myslejovického souvrství. Původ Cr-spinelů spodní části myslejovického souvrství odpovídá horninám ofiolitového komplexu (bazaltům, gabrům a peridotitům oceánského dna) a ostrovního oblouku (bazaltické andezity až andezity a tholeiity či boninity). Cr-spinely pocházející z alpinotypních peridotitů srovnatelných se spinelovými peridotity moldanubika dominují ve svrchní části myslejovického souvrství. Sedimenty spodní části myslejovického souvrství byly dotovány materiálem převážně z oblasti orlickokladského krystalinika (ortoruly), svratecké klenby (svory, fylity, ortoruly), nasavrckého masivu (biotitické granity, amfibol-biotitické granodiority vulkanických oblouků a patrně i ryolity až bazaltické andezity a tholeiity a okolní kontaktně metamorfované horniny) a letovicko-rehberského ofiolitu (Cr-spinely bazických a ultrabazických hornin). Ve svrchní části myslejovického souvrství převažuje klastický materiál z vysoce metamorfovaných a magmatických hornin moldanubika doprovázený v menší míře materiálem z oblasti svratecké klenby (svory, fylity, ortoruly, pararuly, mramory). Detritické granáty a Cr-spinely nebyly ovlivněné působením diagentických fluid v sedimentární pánvi. U detritického monazitu byly idntifikovány dva mechanismy alterace: i) rozpouštění monazitu a reprecipitace fluorapatitu a hydratovaných REE-minerálů; ii) selektivní odnos Pb, který vede k nereálně nízkým výsledkům CHIME datování. Alterace monazitu při teplotách 130-170°C, které byly v této části sedimentární pánve, jsou patrně zapříčiněné fluoridovými iony v diagenetických fluidech. Detritický monazit bez projevů alterací i monazit z valounů dává převážně stáří 333 ± 3 Ma, které odpovídá LP-MP/HT metamorfóze a migmatitizaci v moldanubiku i ve východní části orlicko-kladského krystalinika. Datování monazitu svědčí pro blízké stratigrafické rozpětí sedimentů spodní i svrchní části myslejovického souvrství, ale i rozstáňského a protivanovského souvrství.

Abstract:

This study is focused on the Myslejovice Formation occupying the uppermost position within the clastic sediments of the Drahany Uplands (Lower Carboniferous Culm basin). Garnet, Cr-spinel and monazite from greywackes and rock pebbles from conglomerates were studied to reveal their provenance and behavior during diagenesis. The rock pebbles composition changes significantly from the lowermost part of the Račice conglomerates (leucocratic orthogneisses with common muscovite, rhyolites and dacites > granitoids, contact hornfelses, clastic sediments) through its major part (leucocratic orthogneisses with common muscovite, granitoids > volcanic rocks, contact hornfelses) into the Luleč conglomerates (high-grade metamorphic rocks and granitoids). These changes reflect propagating in erosion level within the same source area in the Račice conglomerates; whereas, the Račice to Luleč conglomerates transition corresponds to a significant provenance change. The change in rock pebbles composition is accompanied by change in chemistry of detrital garnet and Cr-spinel. Garnet assemblages of the lower part of the Myslejovice Formation are strongly polymict with a wide range of garnet composition. A dramatic change in garnet source appeared in about Račice to Luleč conglomerates transition, where the polymict garnet assemblages turned over a narrow transient zone into pyrope-almandine assemblages typical for the upper part of the Myslejovice Formation. The origin of Crspinels from the lower part of the Myslejovice Formation is likely in ocean floor basalts, gabbros and peridotites of the dismembered ophiolite complex and from island arc basaltic andesites to andesites and tholeiites or boninites. Cr-spinels originated from alpinotype peridotites comparable with Cr-spinels from the Moldanubian spinel peridotites are dominant in the Upper part of Myslejovice Formation. The sediments of the lower part of the Myslejovice Formation were supposedly fed mainly by clastic material from the Orlice-Snieznik Dome (orthogneisses), Svratka Dome (mica-schists, phyllites, orthogneisses), Nasavrky masiv (island arc biotite granites, amphibol-biotite granodiorites and probably rhyolites to basaltic andesites and tholeiites and its contacts hornfelses) and perhaps Letovice-Rehberg ophiolite (Cr-spinel from basic and ultrabasic rocks), Upper part of Myslejovice Formation is characterised by total dominance of high-grade metamorphic material and granitoid rocks from the Moldanubian Zone accompanied by minor material from the Svratka Dome (mica-schists, phyllites, orthogneisses, paragneisses, marble). Garnet and Cr-spinel were not affected by diagenetic fluids in sedimentary basin. In monazite two alteration mechanisms were identified: i) monazite dissolution and reprecipitation of fluorapatite and hydrated REE-minerals; ii) selective removals of Pb leading to unrealistically disrupted low monazite age. Fluoride ions probably controlled monazite instability at about 130-170°C attained in the basin. Fresh detrital monazite grains and monazite from various rock pebbles were used for CHIME dating. Most detrital monazite from the lower part of Myslejovice Formation and monazite from the Račice conglomerates yielded 333 ± 3 Ma, which corresponds to LP-MP/HT metamorphism and migmatization in the Moldanubian Zone and in the eastern part of the Orlica-Snieznik Dome. Monazite dating rather suggests similar stratigraphic range of the Lower and Upper part of the Myslejovice Formation and Protivanov and Rozstání Formation, respectively.
