Quality management in the field of outpatient gynecological and obstetric care

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá managementem kvality v oblasti ambulantní gynekologicko-porodnické péče. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak je hodnocena kvalita zdravotní péče v tomto oboru z pohledu zainteresovaných osob. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická nejdříve obecně popisuje řízení, měření a hodnocení kvality ve zdravotnictví, indikátory kvality, standardy zdravotní péče, auditní činnost a kvalitu péče pohledem pacientů. V návaznosti na to je charakterizován management kvality v ambulanci gynekologie a porodnictví spolu se specifiky péče, řízením kvality v této oblasti a vymezením legislativního rámce. Teoretickou část završuje literární rešerše. Praktická část práce obsahuje průběh a výsledky kvalitativního šetření se zaměřením na hodnocení kvality z pohledu pacientů, porodních asistentek/všeobecných sester a lékařů. Na základě výsledků práce byly zformulované konkrétní doporučení pro praxi za účelem kontinuálního zvyšování kvality péče v této oblasti.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with quality management in outpatient gynaecological and obstetric care. The goal of the thesis is to find out how is the quality of health care in this field evaluated from the point of view of the persons concerned. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part first generally describes the management, measurement and evaluation of quality in healthcare, quality indicators, standards of healthcare, auditing activities and quality of care from the patients' perspective. Following this, quality management in gynaecology and obstetrics outpatient clinics is characterised along with the specifics of care, quality management in this area and the definition of the legislative framework. The theoretical part is concluded by a literature search. The practical part of the thesis includes the course and results of a qualitative research focusing on quality assessment from the perspective of patients, midwives/general nurses and doctors. Based on the results of the research, specific recommendations for practice were formulated in order to continuously improve the quality of care in this area.
