Abstract:
An overview of the art commissioned by the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, with a brief history of the republic. The thesis also includes an outline of the avant-garde art of the period between 1950 and 1980, and the opinions of contemporary artists from the former Yugoslav republics on the connection of art and ideology.
