Cultural legacy of the German population in the northern border region of Bohemia

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Kulturní odkaz německého obyvatelstva v severní pohraniční oblasti Čech“ mapuje v teoretické části přítomnost nynější německé menšiny na našem území a vymezuje historické milníky, které přispěly k ovlivnění vzájemných vztahů mezi německým a českým obyvatelstvem. Na příkladu vybraných organizací, zasazujících se o rozvoj vzájemných kulturních, ale i hospodářských vztahů s Němci, ukazuje důležitost udržování sociálních kontaktů a tradic, a to zejména proto, že právě německá kultura byla odjakživa neoddělitelnou součástí severu Čech. Prolínání české a německé kultury je obšírněji ukázáno na poznatcích vzešlých z aktivit Společnosti česko – německého porozumění Trutnov - Krkonoše, z. s., které je věnována i praktická část, v podobě dotazníku, objasňující povědomí o jejím přínosu a existenci.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis "Cultural legacy of the German population in the northern border region of Bohemia" maps in the theoretical part the presence of the current German minority in our territory and defines historical milestones that contributed to influencing the mutual relations between the German and Czech population. The example of selected organizations advocating the development of mutual cultural, but also economic relations with the Germans, shows the importance of maintaining social contacts and traditions, especially because German culture has always been an integral part of North Bohemia. The intersection of Czech and German culture is shown in more detail on the findings of the activities of the Society of Czech-German Understanding Trutnov - Krkonoše, a.s., which is also devoted to the practical part, in the form of a questionnaire clarifying awareness of its contribution and existence.
