Social assumptions of emancipatory struggle of African Americans in the years 1918 - 1968 and problem of racism in the United States of America

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku rasové segregace ve Spojených státech amerických, především se zaměřením na období mezi léty 1918 ? 1968. Základní problematikou, které se práce věnuje, je sociální a ekonomická nerovnost, která mezi občany Spojených států panovala. Mezi sekundární rysy práce patří popis událostí, které vedly ke zrovnoprávnění černošského obyvatelstva. V neposlední řadě se práce věnuje osobnosti Martina Luthera Kinga, který byl vůdčí osobností Afroameričanů a hnutí, které se zasadily o rasovou rovnoprávnost.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the issue of racial segregation in the United States, especially focusing on the period between 1918 - 1968. The basic issue which is devoted to work, the social and economic inequality that existed between the citizens of the United States prevailed. The secondary features of the work includes a description of the events that led to the emancipation of the black population. Finally the paper deals with personality of Martin Luther King who was the leader and the movement of African-Americans who work for racial equality.
