Výzkumy zabývající se aDNA v současné době napomáhají řešit nezodpovězené otázky evoluce a genetiky populací. Jelikož je aDNA značně degradovaná a fragmentovaná, je také náchylná ke kontaminaci cizorodou, současnou DNA, což má za následek diskreditaci výsledků získaných ze studií aDNA. Reasearches dealing with aDNA are currently helping to solve unexplained mysteries in the scientific field of evolution and population genetics.
