Single parent women status in society – in relation with the quality of spending leisure time

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem „Postavení žen - samoživitelek ve společnosti v souvislosti s kvalitou trávení volného času“ se věnuje ženám, které se z různých příčin ocitly v situaci svobodných matek. V teoretické části nabízí stručný exkurz do historie z pohledu postavení žen a rodiny. V návaznosti na tuto problematiku také popisuje termíny feminismus a gender. K uvedenému tématu neodmyslitelně patří rodina a v souvislosti s tím i manželství a rozvod, jeho následky a dopady na děti i všechny členy rodiny. Další kapitola se věnuje svobodným matkám z pohledu práva. Závěr teoretické části je zaměřen na volný čas a jsou zde uvedeny organizace, které se věnují dětem a rodinám na území města Brna. Empirická část pak využívá kvalitativních metod výzkumu. Formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů odhaluje problematiku postavení svobodných matek ve společnosti a možnosti kvalitního trávení volného času, životní zkušenosti žen samoživitelek a jejich subjektivní pocity i názory. K vyhodnocení těchto rozhovorů je pak použita metoda otevřeného a axiálního kódování a na základě získaných poznatků vyvozené závěry.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis called „Single parent women status in society – in relation with the quality of spending leisure time“ is focused at women, who ended up as unmarried mothers, as the result of various reasons. Theoretical part offers brief excursion to history, from the point of view of women and family status. Connected to this issue, terms of feminism and gender are described as well. To the topic inseparably belongs family and marriage, divorce with its consequences and impact on children and all family members. Another chapter is devoted to single mothers from the perspective of law. Conclusion of the theoretical part focuses on leisure time and organizations dedicated to children and families in the city of Brno are mentioned. Empirical part applies qualitative research methods. Using semi-structured dialogs it reveals problems of single mother‘s status in society and possibilities of spending leisure time, single parent mothers life experiences and their subjective feelings and opinions. To evaluate these dialogues the method of open and axial coding is used and concslusions are inferred from acquired findings.
