Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se zaměřuje na mediální reprezentaci atentátu na týdeník Charlie Hebdo v časovém rozpětí od 8. 1. 2015 do 31.1.2015. Cílem práce je popsat, analyzovat a interpretovat mediální obraz atentátu prezentovaného v deníku Lidové noviny. Pro tento cíl byla zvolena metoda kritické diskurzivní analýzy podle Normana Fairclougha, která se soustředí na interpretaci možných ideologických a mocenských tendencí v textu. Úvodní část je věnovaná teoretickým východiskům (primárně pak sociální a mediální konstrukci reality), následující část představuje širší kontext problematiky. Analýza propojuje teoreticko-kontextovo-metodologická východiska práce. Autorka v analyzovaných textech identifikuje dvě stěžejní témata – téma reakcí na atentát v kontextu multikulturalismu a téma svobody projevu, přičemž oba korpusy textů stojí ideově téměř proti sobě. Zatímco první korpus textů vykazuje spíše islamofobní tendence a tendence k vyvolání strachu z multikulturalismu, druhý korpus z většiny naopak volá po rovných podmínkách pro různé kultury Evropy. V závěrečné diskuzi autorka práce reflektuje výsledky analýzy, limity práce a její návaznost na současnou situaci, totiž globální přesah události atentátu.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on a media representation of a terrorist attack to journal Charlie Hebdo from 8. 1. 2015 to 31.1. 2015. The aim of the thesis is a description, analysis and interpretation of a media image of the attack on the Charlie Hebdo redaction by newspapers Lidové noviny. The author chose the critical discourse analysis by Norman Fairclough as a research method, which is focused on the interpretation of possible ideological and power tendencies in the text. First part of this work describes a theoretical frameworks resources (particularly the theory of social construction and media construction of reality), second part targets on a wider context of problematic. Analysis links theoretical, methodological and contextual parts of this thesis. The thesis identifies two main themes in the analysis. The first theme is connected to a multiculturalism and second theme deals with freedom of speech while the both themes are almost ideologically opposite to each. The first theme shows islamophobia tendencies and invokes the fear of multiculturalism, the second theme calls for equal conditions for all cultures in Europe. Author takes into consideration the results of the analysis, limits of the thesis and connection with a current situation in the final discussion.
