Implementation of agile project management

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je výzkum implementace agilního projektového řízení ve firmách v České republice působících v odvětvích s vysokou mírou projektifikaci. Pro zjištění cíle byla použita kombinace kvantitativního a kvalitativního výzkumu, sběr dat byl proveden formou internetového dotazníku. V práci jsou provedeny metody deskriptivní statistiky, Chí-kvadrát testu dobré shody, Cronbachovy alfy a ANOVY v kombinaci s Brown-Forsythovým testem. Testování hypotéz bylo provedeno ve statistickém softwaru IBM SPSS Statistics, kvalitativní data byla analyzována v softwaru NVivo. Z výsledků výzkumu vyplývá, že nejpoužívanější agilní metodikou je Scrum a techniky z něj vycházející. Nejvíce využívaná je vlastní škálovací technika. Největšími výzvami při implementaci je nedostatek podpory a pochopení managementu a nepochopení principu agilního projektového řízení. Nejdůležitějšími faktory úspěšné implementace je podpora managementu a zapojení všech, kterých se implementace týká. Nejčastějším důvodem implementace bylo zkrácení doby vývoje a dodávání na trh, rychlejší dosahování výsledků a lepší komunikace v týmu a organizaci. Ve výsledku došlo po implementaci především k rychlejšímu dosahování výsledků a zlepšení komunikace v týmu i organizaci. Byly identifikovány celkem 4 fáze implementace: přípravná fáze, implementační fáze, hodnotící fáze a fáze expanze.

Abstract:

The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate implementation of agile project management in companies in the Czech Republic from sectors with the highest rate of projectification. The combination of quantitative and qualitative research was used to ensure the aim of the thesis, data were collected by an internet survey. The methods of descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, Cronbach's alpha and ANOVA in combination with Brown-Forsyth test are performed. Hypothesis were tested in IBM SPSS Statistics software, qualitative data were analyzed in NVivo software. The results of the research showed that the most used agile methodology is Scrum and techniques based on it. Respondents mostly use their own scaling methods. The biggest challenges of implementation are the lack of support and understanding of management and a lack of understanding of the principle of agile project management. The most important factors of successful implementation are the support of management and the involvement of all people affected by the implementation. The most common reason for implementation was to shorten the time of development and delivery to the market, faster achievement of outcomes and better communication within the team and the whole organization. The result, of the implementation showed, that outcomes were achieved faster and communication in the team and organization was improved. 4 implementation phases were identified: the preparation phase, the implementation phase, the evaluation phase and the expansion phase.
