Homologní rekombinace hraje důležitou roli nejen při zachování integrity genomu, ale také během meiózy, kde zprostředkovává správnou segregaci chromozomů v průběhu meiotického dělení, a tím umožňuje vytváření genetické diverzity. Abstract:
Genetic recombination plays a crucial role in the maintenance of chromosomal integrity. During meiosis, recombination plays an important role in the proper segregation of chromosomes and generation of genetic diversity, where the RAD51 recombinase and its meiosis-specific homolog DMC1 mediate DNA strand-exchange between homologous chromosomes.
