Rescue programs of the U.S. government and the Federal Reserve during the financial crisis

Abstract:

V roce 2008 vznik finanční krize ve Spojených státech zásadně ovlivnil celosvětovou ekonomiku. Ve velké míře táto změna je způsobená protikrizovými opatření, které provádí americká vláda a federální rezervní systém. Cílem dáne bakalářské práce je analyzovat jednotlivá opatření a posoudit úspěšnost jejích celkového působení. Proces hodnocení je založen na postupech metody 3E, která sleduje hospodárnost, účelovost a efektivnost programů. Každý krok je oceněn samostatně s použitím cost -- benefit analýzy, ekonometrické analýzy nebo sledováním příslušných ukazatelů. Provedený výzkum stanovil neúspěšnost balíčku záchranných opatření i když některé programy měli docela pozitivní vliv. Nicméně pomocí provedených analýz byl naznačen možný budoucí vývoj některých ekonomických veličin a směr rozvoje samotného finančního systému spojených států.

Abstract:

The financial crisis of 2008 in the United States has changed the global economy. To a large extent this change is caused by the anti-crisis measures carried out by the U.S. government and the Federal Reserve System. The objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyze each measure and evaluate the success of its overall exposure. The evaluation process is based on the 3E method, which tracks the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of programs. Each step is rated separately with using Cost -- Benefit analysis, econometric analysis or monitoring indicators. Although some programs had quite a positive effect, the hole research established a failure of the package of rescue measures. However, in base on analysis the possible future development of certain economic variables and some directions of the U.S financial system changings were forecasted.
