Burnout when working as an educator

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou syndromu vyhoření u profese vychovatele. Teoretická část vymezuje základní pojem syndromu vyhoření, zabývá se příčinami jeho vzniku, jeho projevy, vývojem, terapií a prevencí. Popisuje profesi vychovatele, odborné a osobnostní předpoklady pro výkon této profese. Zabývá se dalšími faktory jako je pracovní spokojenost, a odhaluje příčiny psychické a fyzické zátěže. Praktickou část tvoří výzkum, základní výzkumnou metodu tvoří dotazník, který byl anonymní. Výzkum probíhal ve vybraných zařízeních, kde pracují vychovatelé - ve školních družinách, diagnostických ústavech, domovech mládeže a ústavech sociální péče. Na základě získaných dat z výzkumu se potvrdily či nepotvrdily předem stanovené hypotézy. Vzhledem k získaným informacím a závěrům jsem na závěr diplomové práce zařadila doporučení pro praxi, která by měla tvořit obecná východiska pro minimalizaci možností vzniku syndromu vyhoření u profese vychovatele. Zároveň si uvědomuji, že je to vždy individuální záležitost. Fenomén syndromu vyhoření u této profese zůstává nadále velmi aktuálním tématem.

Abstract:

This Diploma work deals with the burn-out syndrome issue in tutor's profession. The theoretical part explains the main terminology - burn-out syndrome, what causes its start, how it works and progresses. It also shows the possibilities of therapy and prevention. It describes the tutor's profession, his personal and professional qualities pro performing this job. Furthermore, it concerns in other factors like professional satisfaction and physical and psychological weight. Practical part consists of research, the main used method is questionnaire, which was anonymous. The research was maid is particular institutions, where tutors work - in youth centers, dormitories, diagnostic centers and social departments for youth. Based on this research, main hypothesis presented in this work were/ or were not confirmed. Considering all this information and conclusions of this work, the ending part of this diploma work belongs to recommendation for practice, which should be taken as a base for minimizing the chances of burn-out syndrome originating. At the same time, I ´am realizing, the fact that it is very individual issue. This burn-out syndrome phenomenon remains to be a very serious and present problem tutor's have to deals with every day.
