Down syndrom from point of view of antropology and genetick up to the present

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce shrnuje genetické a antropologické poznatky o Downově syndromu, jakožto nejběžnější chromozomální abnormalitě vyskytující se v lidské populaci. Zmiňuje tři možné formy syndromu a způsoby jejich dědičnosti, stejně tak jako četnosti jejich výskytu a rizikové skupiny s aktuálními daty pro Českou republiku. Hlavním tématem je otázka spojování jednotlivých fenotypových projevů Downova syndromu se zmnožením konkrétních genů. Antropologická část práce připomíná symptomy syndromu, zabývá se příčinami úmrtí u jedinců s DS a nemocemi, kterými tito jedinci trpí častěji než zbytek populace. Stěžejním bodem je antropologické srovnání vývoje dětí s Downovým syndromem a referenčními hodnotami zdravé dětské populace. Závěrem se práce dotýká též prenatálních vyšetření zaměřených na depistáž Downova syndromu.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis sumarizes genetical and antropological knowledge about Down syndrome, the most common chromosomal abnormality occuring in the human population. It mentions three possible forms of the syndrome and the ways of their heredity, as well as the frequency of their occurrence and risk groups with actual data for the Czech republic. The main topic is question about linking single fenotypic manifestations of Down syndrome with multiplication of concrete genes. The antropological part of the thesis reminds symptoms of the syndrome, deals with causes of death of the DS individuals and with diseases, which are more frequent in this group than in the rest of the population. The main topic is the antropological comparion of development of DS children and reference figures of healthy population of children. In the end the thesis mentions also prenatal examinations which are aimed to screening of Down syndrome.
