China's New Silk Road initiative and its impact on China's relations with South Asian countries

Abstract:

Cílem práce je analyzovat Novou hedvábnou stezku jako jeden z čínských nástrojů na ovládnutí globálního obchodu. Práce se zaměřuje na region Jižní Asie, konkrétně na země jako je Indie, Pákistán či Srí Lanka. Na příkladech Pákistánu a Srí Lanky ukáže, jak může být nepromyšlená ekonomická spolupráce s Čínou ohrožením pro stabilitu a suverenitu těchto zemí. Práce odpovídá na otázku, jak negativní vlivy Nové hedvábné stezky (jako je přílišná ekonomická závislost na Číně či její rostoucí agresivita) ovlivňují stabilitu v geopolitickém prostředí Jižní Asie, a to především v kontextu čínsko-indických vztahů. Práce tyto odpovědi uvádí do souvislostí a vytváří ucelený pohled na promyšlený projekt Nové hedvábné stezky.

Abstract:

The aim of the work is to analyze the New Silk Road as one of China's tools to dominate global trade. The work will focus on the South Asian region, specifically on countries such as India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Using the examples of Pakistan and Sri Lanka, he will show how ill-considered economic cooperation with China can be a threat to the stability and sovereignty of these countries. The thesis answers the question of how the negative effects of the New Silk Road (such as excessive economic dependence on China or its growing aggressiveness) affect stability in the geopolitical environment of South Asia, especially in the context of Sino-Indian relations. The thesis puts these answers into context and creates a comprehensive view of the well-thought-out project of the New Silk Road.
