Crisis of the male role in the postmodern society

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Krize mužské role v postmoderní společnosti?“ se zabývá pohledem vybraných mužů na to, jaká očekávání od nich panují v současné české společnosti s ohledem na jejich genderovou příslušnost. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Část teoretická se nejprve zaměřuje na pojem „identita“ a na složitý proces jejího utváření s důrazem na proces utváření identity mužské. Ústřední oddíl teoretické části se věnuje tématu proměny mužské role v kontextu historie. Závěrečná část se zabývá otázkou tzv. krize maskulinity, která bývá v současnosti stále více předmětem odborných i laických diskusí. V praktické části je pak stanoven cíl výzkumného šetření, jsou předloženy použité metody a interpretována získaná data.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „Crisis of the male role in the postmodern society?“ deals with a view of chosen men on what presently does the society expect of them relative to their gender affiliation. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part firstly concentrates on „identity“, and on a process of its forming with the emphasis on the forming of masculine idenity. The main part of the theoretical section engages in issue of the crisis of masculinity, which is more and more matter of both, professional and lay discussions. In practical part objective of research, methods and data interpretation are mentioned.
