The influence of therapy on Imoove mini on walking and postural stability in patients with multiple sclerosis

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na posouzení vlivu terapie pomocí přístroje Imoove mini na posturální stabilitu a chůzi u pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou mozkomíšní. Dílčím cílem je porovnání hodnot naměřených před a po intervenci u stejné skupiny pacientů. Skupinu tvoří celkem 17 pacientek s roztroušenou sklerózou ve stádiu remise dosahující dle Kurtzkeho škály maximálního stupně 5,5, průměrný věk skupiny je 48 let. Místem výzkumu byla Sanatoria Klimkovice. Každá pacientka absolvovala 12 terapií na přístroji Imoove mini a podstoupila vstupní a výstupní měření, které obsahovalo zhodnocení posturální stability na stabilometrické plošině Alfa, testy chůze a validovaný dotazník pro posouzení subjektivního vnímání účinku dané terapie. Teoretická část práce shrnuje dosavadní poznatky o roztroušené skleróze hlavně z hlediska fyzioterapie a o přístroji Imoove mini. Praktická část je věnována samotnému výzkumu. Výsledky práce ukazují, že terapie na přístroji Imoove mini má pozitivní vliv na délku kroku a subjektivní vnímání terapie pacientkami. Z výsledků lze dále usuzovat, že delší doba spolupráce s pacientkami a častější dávkování dané terapie by mohlo vést k lepším výsledkům u těchto pacientek. To může být podkladem pro další výzkum.

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with assesment of the Imoove mini based therapy influence on postural stability and walking of patients affected by multiple sclerosis. Partial goal is to compare values measured on same group of patients before and after the intervention. Group consists of 17 female patients affected by multiple sclerosis in the stage of remission that reach maximum degree of 5,5 according to Kurtzke's scale, average age of the group was 48 years. Research was executed in Sanatorium Klimkovice. Every female patient underwent 12 therapy sessions on Imoove mini and both: entry and final measurement that consisted of postural stability evaluation on stabilometric platform Alfa, walking tests and validated questionnaire to evaluate subjective perception of effects from the therapy. Theoretical part of the thesis summarize available knowledge about multiple sclerosis, mainly from the physiotherapy point of view, and knowledge about Imoove mini unit.Practical part deals with the research itself. The results of this thesis show that Imoove mini based therapy have positive influence on the length of step and subjective therapy perception of female patients. We can also assume that long-term cooperation with these female patients and more frequent therapy sessions could lead to even better results. That could become the base for further research.
