The importance of nutrition in the treatment of addiction

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá významem výživy při léčbě závislosti na nelegálních návykových látkách. Teoretická část shrnuje dosavadní poznatky o celé řadě skupin drog, se kterými je možnost se setkat na nelegálních trzích. Dále je pojednáno o samotném závislostním chování a jeho dopadech na nutriční stav člověka. V praktické části jsou za pomoci kvalitativního výzkumu odkrývány širší souvislosti stravovacích zvyklosti a léčby lidí, kteří drogy v minulosti užívali.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the importance of nutrition in the treatment of addiction to illicit drugs. The theoretical part summarizes the existing knowledge about a number of drug groups with which it is possible to come across in illegal markets. Furthermore, addictive behavior itself and its effects on human nutritional status are discussed. In the practical part, with the help of qualitative research, broader context of eating habits and treatment of people who used drugs in the past is revealed.
