Funding system of NGOs helping people without home in Palma de Mallorca

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá systémem financování nestátních neziskových organizací, které pomáhají osobám bez domova v Palmě de Mallorce. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaké mají nestátní neziskové organizace možnosti při financování, z jakých zdrojů jsou financovány a jak probíhá proces tvorby rozpočtu na každý rok, či jestli musí splňovat určité podmínky pro získání financí. Práce se dělí na dvě části, na část teoretickou a výzkumnou. První část, teoretická, se snaží přiblížit téma sociálního vyloučení, bezdomovectví, ale zabývá se také fundraisingem a dalšími zdroji financí, ze kterých může nestátní nezisková organizace čerpat. Dále se také věnuji obecně tématu sociálních služeb ve Španělsku i na Mallorce a stručně vymezuji neziskové organizace, včetně jejich historie a vývoje, až k aktuálnímu chápání a vymezení v dnešní době. Druhá část je výzkumná, v této části se snažím zjistit, jak jsou nestátní neziskové organizace v Palmě de Mallorce financované, z jakých zdrojů a jak se k těmto zdrojům dostanou, jak každá z nich tvoří svůj rozpočet, či jaké je prostředí ve zkoumaných organizacích. V práci byla využita strategie kvalitativního výzkumu. Výzkum byl proveden v 5 organizacích pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru a byl doplněn polostrukturovaným pozorováním. Na závěr jsou výsledky analyzovány a interpretovány.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the financing system of non-governmental non-profit organizations that help homeless people in Palma de Mallorca. The aim of the thesis is to find out what possibilities non-governmental organizations have when financing, from what sources they are financed and how the budgeting process for each year proceeds or if they have to meet certain conditions for obtaining finances. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the research part. The first part, the theoretical part, tries to explain the topic of social exclusion, homelessness, but also deals with fundraising and other sources of finance from which the non-governmental non-profit organization can draw. Furthermore, I also deal generally with the topic of social services in Spain and Mallorca and I briefly define non-profit organizations, including their history and development to the current understanding and definition of today. The second part is research, in this section I try to find out how non-governmental non-profit organizations in Palma de Mallorca are funded, from what sources and how they get to these resources, how each of them creates their budget, or how it goes in the researched organizations. The thesis used the strategy of qualitative research. The research was conducted in 5 organizations using a semi-structured interview and was supplemented by semi-structured observation. Finally, the results are analyzed and interpreted.
