Comparison of social media on the example of women´s football teams 1. FC Slovácko and FK Austria Wien

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis aims to examine the social media activities of the women's football teams 1. FC Slovácko and FK Austria Wien on Facebook and Instagram. The influence of several factors on the post popularity will be analysed, and the social media presence of the women's teams will be optimized. In the theoretical part, the concept of social media and its application areas, possible segmentation of the platforms, and optimal communication on these services, as well as Facebook and Instagram, are described in more detail. This is followed by a quantitative analysis consisting of two research questions and hypotheses formulated to answer them. The observed period covers 13 months (January 2022 till January 2023). At the end of this work, suggestions for improvement will be provided, which will not only be based on the evaluation of the hypotheses but also on the theoretical part.

Abstract:

Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit verfolgt das Ziel, die Social-Media-Aktivitäten der Frauenfußballteams 1. FC Slovácko und FK Austria Wien auf Facebook und Instagram zu untersuchen. Dabei soll der Einfluss mehrerer Faktoren auf die Beliebtheit eines Posts analysiert und die Social-Media-Präsenz der Frauenteams optimiert werden. Im theoretischen Teil werden der Begriff Social Media und seine Anwendungsbereiche, mögliche Gliederung der Plattformen und optimale Kommunikation auf diesen Diensten sowie Facebook und Instagram näher beschrieben. Daran knüpft eine quantitative Analyse an, die aus zwei Forschungsfragen und zu deren Beantwortung formulierten Hypothesen besteht. Der beobachtete Zeitraum umfasst 13 Monate (Januar 2022 bis Januar 2023). Am Ende dieser Arbeit sind Verbesserungsvorschläge zu finden, die nicht nur von der Auswertung der Hypothesen, sondern auch von dem theoretischen Teil ausgehen.
