The Contribution of the Ronald McDonald House Foundation Fund to Society as an Example of Good Practice

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje charakteristice a analýze nadačních fondů v České republice se zaměřením na Nadační fond Dům Ronalda McDonalda. Cílem práce je zhodnotit dopad fondu na kvalitu života rodin hospitalizovaných dětí, a to ve spojení s principy společenské odpovědnosti firem. Práce kombinuje teoretický rámec neziskového sektoru a společenské odpovědnosti firem s praktickou částí, založenou na kvalitativním výzkumu formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů přímo s klienty fondu. Výsledky ukazují, že fond poskytuje nejen materiální zázemí, ale také významnou psychosociální oporu. Dům Ronalda McDonalda je v českém prostředí vnímán jako příklad efektivní a lidské pomoci, která má reálný společenský dopad.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the characteristics and analysis of charitable foundations in the Czech Republic, with a particular emphasis on the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the foundation’s impact on the quality of life of families with hospitalized children, in connection with the principles of corporate social responsibility. The work combines a theoretical framework of the non-profit sector and corporate social responsibility with a practical part based on qualitative research conducted through semi-structured interviews with the foundation’s clients. The findings show that the foundation provides not only material support but also significant psychosocial assistance. In the Czech context, the Ronald McDonald House is perceived as an example of effective and compassionate aid that delivers tangible social impact.
