Art therapy with clients of the therapeutic community

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce popisuje arteterapii v terapeutické komunitě pro závislé mladistvé, mladé dospělé a rodiče, kteří léčbu v komunitě absolvují spolu se svými dětmi. Má charakter akčního výzkumu a zachycuje proces zavádění arteterapie do programu komunity a arteterapeutickou praxi v uplynulých čtyřech letech. Smyslem práce je na tomto základě formulovat, jaké přínosy arteterapie přinesla členům komunity, a definovat faktory, které výkon arteterapie nepříznivě ovlivňují, a navrhnout taková řešení, která by arteterapii zasadila funkčněji do programu komunity. V teoretické části se tato práce věnuje tématu závislosti a terapeutické komunitě jako formě léčby a soustředí se především na účinné faktory terapeutické komunity. Dále představuje arteterapii a artefiletiku a přístup projektivně-intervenční arteterapie. Praktická část popisuje cílové skupiny klientů a pracoviště terapeutické komunity, do které byla arteterapie zaváděna. Dále se zabývá procesem zavádění a průběhu arteterapie v průběhu čtyř let s příklady konkrétních arteterapeutických aktivit. Text je doprovázen fotografiemi artefaktů a jejich stručným výkladem. Autorka průběžně předkládá své úvahy a postřehy k arteterapii v kontextu komunity, ale věnuje se i svému vývoji v roli arteterapeuta. V závěru provazuje poznatky ze své praxe spolu s teorií s výsledky evaluační části a snaží se zodpovědět výzkumné otázky práce. Výstupem jsou poznatky o přínosech arteterapie v terapeutické komunitě, o faktorech nepříznivě ovlivňující výkon arteterapie a jejich možná řešení.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis describes art therapy in the context of a therapeutic community for addicted adolescents, young adults, and parents who undergo treatment in the community along with their children. It has the nature of action research and captures the process of introducing art therapy into the community's program and the art therapeutic practice over the past four years. The purpose of the thesis is to formulate, on this basis, the benefits that art therapy has brought to the members of the community, to define the factors that adversely affect the performance of art therapy, and to propose solutions that would integrate art therapy more functionally into the program of the therapeutic community. In the theoretical part, this thesis deals with the topic of addiction and the therapeutic community as a form of treatment and focuses mainly on the effective factors of the therapeutic community. It also presents art therapy and artefiletics and the approach of projective-intervention art therapy. The practical part describes the target groups of clients and the workplace of the therapeutic community where art therapy was introduced. It also deals with the process of introduction and course of art therapy over four years with examples of specific art therapeutic activities. The text is accompanied by photographs of artifacts and their brief interpretation. The author continuously presents her reflections and observations on art therapy in the context of the therapeutic community, but also focuses on her development in the role of an art therapist. In the conclusion part, the author links the findings from her practice along with the theory with the results of the evaluation part and tries to answer the research questions of the thesis. The outcome is the findings on the benefits of art therapy in the therapeutic community, the factors adversely affecting the performance of art therapy, and their possible solutions.
