Comparison of the Constitution of the United States with the Czechoslovak Constitution of 1920

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá porovnáním Ústavy Spojených států amerických (1787) a Ústavní listiny Československé republiky (1920). První část práce se věnuje americké ústavě. Ta, jako jedna mála z ústav, vstoupila do dějin, nejen amerických, a stala se inspirací i pro československou ústavu. Druhá část práce pojednává o československé ústavní listině. Ta byla považována za jednu z nejdemokratičtějších ústav své doby ve střední Evropě. Práce se zaměřuje na ideové zdroje obou ústav a na historicko-politické okolnosti jejich vzniku.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with comparison of the Constitution of the United States (1787) and the Czechoslovak Constitution (1920). The first part deals with American Constitution, because as one of the few it entered into the history, not only American. The U.S. Constitution has inspired Czechoslovak Constitution 1920, too. The second part describes the Czechoslovak Constitution, which was considered to be one of the most democratic constitutions in the Central Europe. The thesis considers the ideas behind both constitutions and historical and political factors of their genesis.
