The success rate of newly introduced chemotherapeutics is very low in clinical trials. Úspešnosť novo zavádzaných chemoterapeutík je v klinických testoch veľmi nízka. Jedným z dôvodov môže byť aj to, že sa stále vo veľkej miere na tento účel používajú 2D monovrstvové kultúry, ktoré nedokážu dostatočne napodobniť špecifické nádorové mikroprostredie.
