Monitoring of Fail Rate among the First-Year University Students

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku studijní neúspěšnosti a faktory, které ji mohou ovlivňovat. Cílem teoretické části diplomové práce je popsat vysokoškolský systém v České republice, vymezit studijní neúspěšnost, příčiny a dopady studijní neúspěšnosti, poukázat na strategické dokumenty, které se zabývají studijní neúspěšností, a popsat studijní programy/obory na FVP SU v Opavě, požadavky na studium, profily absolventů a jejich uplatnění na trhu práce. Cílem praktické části je analyzovat neúspěšnost studentů prvních ročníků na FVP SU v Opavě v akademických letech 2008/2009–2020/2021 a to z hlediska počtu neúspěšných studií, oborového zaměření studijních programů/oborů a příčin, které vedly k ukončení studia na základě prohlášení studenta nebo ukončení studia z důvodu nesplnění studijních povinností.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the issue of study failure and the factors that can influence it. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is to describe the university system in the Czech Republic, define study failure, causes and consequences of study failure, point out strategic documents that deal with study failure, and describe study programs / fields at FVP SU in Opava, study requirements, profiles of graduates and their employment in the labor market. The aim of the practical part is to analyze the failure of first-year students at FVP SU in Opava in the academic years 2008/2009 – 2020/2021 in terms of the number of failed studies, field of study programs/fields and causes that led to the study failure based on voluntarily student dropout or termination of studies due to non-fulfillment of study obligations.
