Guaninové kvadruplexy a cytosinové i-motivy se řadí mezi čtyřřetězcové struktury nukleových kyselin. Tyto struktury se vyznačují širokou škálou potenciálního využití. Jelikož se v lidském genomu vyskytuje mnoho sekvencí bohatých na guanin, je pravděpodobné, že se mohou tvořit i zde a případně ovlivňovat genovou expresi. Guanine quadruplexes with cytosine i-motifs are the form of tetrastranded nucleic acid secondary structures. These structures are known for a broad range of potential usage. Because many sequences rich in guanine can be found in the human genome, it is probably possible to form these structures there and subsequently affect gene expression.
