Financial derivatives and hedging of risk

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis attempts at the basic problematic of financial derivatives. The first chapter describes the origins of financial derivatives from a historical perspective, defines the basic characteristics of these financial instruments, their variety, functions and usage. The second part of the first chapter defines financial risks and approaches the many investments strategies used in the modern market monetary system for hedging of these risks. The second chapter analyzes the actual usage of these financial tools on the Slovak market as a mean to hedge financial risks and reports on the EU legislative framework as a means of standardization of regulation and supervision of trading in financial derivatives.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá základnou problematikou finančných derivátov. Prvá kapitola popisuje vznik, historický vývoj, charakterizuje základné znaky a členenie derivátových produktov, na základe ich funkcie a formy využitia. V druhej časti prvej kapitoly sa zameriava na charakteristiku a definíciu finančných rizík a popisujeme rôzne investičné stratégie na krytie rizika používané v trhovo-monetárnom systéme súčasnosti. Druha kapitola analyzuje aktuálnu situáciu a využiteľnosť na Slovenskom trhu a uvádza súčasne legislatívne smernice a normy, ktoré majú za cieľ stanovenie rámcov regulácie a dohľadu nad obchodovaním s finančnými derivátmi.
