Abstract:

The aim of the comparative research is to analyze the role of the implicit attitudes ofclients towards the treatment in the context of three therapeutic communities for drugaddiction treatment in Peru, Nicaragua and the Czech Republic. The purpose is to carryout a cross-cultural qualitative research on the perception of the drug addictiontreatment in a unique cultural background in each of the selected countries. The firstpart of the thesis is devoted to the concept of development of the attitudes of the clientsfor the specific treatment and the role culture plays in it in the context of interculturalpsychology. This part continues with theoretical attitudes towards the modelsof therapeutic communities and the background for each of the case studies: Takiwasi,CEA and Sejřek. The theoretical part is concluded by the research on international aidregarding drug abuse in each of the regions. The second part of the thesis –the empirical part – is the content analysis of implicit attitudes of clients towardsthe treatment in the selected facilities taking into account sociocultural characteristicsof the case study. The comparative research consists of 30 semi-structured deepinterviews analyzed through stages of open coding, selective and axial coding,providing a background for the paradigmatic model. The main content analysisis supported by the additional, initial version of the discourse analysis.

Abstract:

El objetivo de este estudio comparativo es analizar el papel de las actitudes implícitasde los clientes hacia el tratamiento en el contexto de tres comunidades terapéuticas parael tratamiento de la drogadicción en Perú, Nicaragua y la República Checa. El objetivoes llevar a cabo una investigación cualitativa multicultural sobre la percepcióndel tratamiento de la drogadicción en un contexto cultural único en cada uno de lospaíses seleccionados. La primera parte de la tesis está dedicada al conceptode desarrollo de las actitudes para el tratamiento específico y el papel que juega lacultura en el contexto de la psicología intercultural. Esta parte continúa con las actitudesteóricas hacia los modelos de comunidades terapéuticas y los antecedentes de cada unode los estudios de casos: Takiwasi, CEA y Sejřek. La parte teórica concluye conla investigación sobre la ayuda internacional relacionada con el uso indebido de drogasen cada una de las regiones. La segunda parte de la tesis, la parte empírica, es el análisisde contenido de las actitudes implícitas de los clientes hacia el tratamientoen las instalaciones seleccionadas teniendo en cuenta las características socioculturalesdel estudio de caso. La investigación comparativa consiste en 30 entrevistas profundassemiestructuradas que brindan una base para el modelo paradigmático a fin de formaruna Teoría Fundamentada en Datos. El análisis de contenido principal está respaldadopor el análisis de discurso adicional.
