Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku výuky angličtiny u dyslektických studentů víceletých gymnázií, konkrétně na obtíže, s nimiž se setkávají při výuce jazyka. Jejím cílem je prozkoumat specifické problémy, kterým tito studenti čelí, efektivní strategie učení, které si vytvořili, a vhodné adaptace, kterým v rámci gymnaziálního prostředí dávají přednost. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí: teoretické a empirické. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na základní charakteristiku žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami, s důrazem na dyslexii. Definuje také dvojí výjimečnost a poskytuje teoretické základy pro přístupy a strategie doporučované odborníky pro výuku žáků s dyslexií v hodinách cizího jazyka. V empirické části práce je prezentován výzkum provedený na českých gymnáziích, kterého se zúčastnili čtyři studenti s dyslexií. Součástí výzkumu jsou polostrukturované rozhovory, které se zaměřují na osobní zkušenosti studentů a ukazují vliv dyslexie na výuku cizího jazyka. Tato práce přináší cenné poznatky pro české učitele, zdůrazňuje potřebu porozumění jednotlivým studentům a hledat řešení jejich specifických potřeb.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the challenges of teaching English to multi-year grammar school students with dyslexia, specifically highlighting the difficulties they face when learning the language. It aims to examine the specific learning challenges faced by these students, investigate effective learning strategies they have developed, and explore their preferred accommodations within the grammar school setting. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part of the thesis highlights the fundamental characteristics of students with special educational needs, with a particular emphasis on the concept of dyslexia. Also, it defines twice-exceptionality and provides theoretical background to approaches and strategies recommended by experts for teaching pupils with dyslexia in a foreign language classroom. In the empirical part, the thesis presents research conducted at Czech grammar schools, involving four participants with dyslexia. It includes semi-structured interviews focusing on personal experiences, highlighting the effects of dyslexia on foreign language learning. The thesis provides valuable insights and instructional strategies for Czech teachers, emphasizing the need to understand individual students and addressing their specific needs.
