Demonstrations of socially responsible behaviour in hotel industry

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o společenské odpovědnosti v hotelnictví, a jak se v hotelech uplatňuje. Společenská odpovědnost (CSR – Corporate Social Responsibility). CSR má tři pilíře – ekonomická oblast, sociální oblast a environmentální oblast. CSR je více rozšířeno spíše v jiných oblastech (např. telekomunikace, energie) než je hotelnictví. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit jak je v hotelnictví CSR rozšířeno a které hotely se ke společenské odpovědnosti hlásí. Dále informovat o tématu společenské odpovědnosti firem a analyzovat hotely v Praze a okolí, které aplikují zásady společenské odpovědnosti. Práce je členěna do tří částí. První část je zaměřena na všeobecné informace o společenské odpovědnosti. Druhá část pojednává o aplikacích CSR v jednotlivých hotelech. Součástí je dotazníkové šetření v hotelech a o všeobecném povědomí o CSR. Z práce vyplývá, že CSR je součástí hotelů, ale není až tak rozšířeno. Je důležité CSR více zapojit do hotelového provozu. Také je nutné informovat o daném tématu veřejnost a okolí. V rámci vhodného fungování konceptu CSR by bylo vhodné zapojit i legislativu.

Abstract:

The work deals with social responsibility in the hotel industry, and how the hotel applies. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility). CSR has three pillars - economic, social and environmental domains. CSR is rather more widespread in other areas (for example telecommunications, energy) than the hotel industry. The aim of this thesis is to find out how CSR in hospitality extended by the hotel and to social responsibility reports. Further information on the topic of corporate social responsibility and analyze hotels in Prague and its surroundings, which apply the principles of social responsibility. The work is divided into three parts. The first part is focused on general information about social responsibility. The second part deals with the application of CSR in the individual hotels. As part of the survey in the selection and awareness. The work suggests that CSR is part of the hotel, but not so widespread. It is important CSR more involved in hotel operations. It is also necessary to inform the public about the subject and the surrounding area. The proper functioning of the concept of CSR would be appropriate to involve legislation.
