Dying and death: comparing views of two generations

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku vnímání smrti a umírání v dnešní společnosti. Prostřednictvím kvalitativních rozhovorů a analýzy založené na principu metody zakotvené teorie jsou zkoumány subjektivní perspektivy informantů odlišného věku, vyznání i pohlaví. Důraz je kladen na mapování postojů k těmto fenoménům v období rané dospělosti a stáří. V teoretické části jsou předkládány koncepty vztahující se k tématu smrti a umírání, výzkumná část poskytuje popis vlastního bádání a obsahovou analýzu rozhovorů, prováděnou v kontextu současných poznatků a průzkumů na toto téma. Výsledky této studie jsou umístěny v kapitole 8.3 -Závěrečné shrnutí analýzy.

Abstract:

Presented diploma thesis focuses on the issue of perception of death and dying in our society. Through qualitative interviews and analysis based on the grounded theory principles are examined subjective perspectives of informants in a different age, religion and gender. Emphasis is put on mapping of attitudes towards these phenomena in early adulthood and old age. In the theoretical part are presented concepts related to the topic of death and dying, research section provides a description of the research and the content analysis of interviews carried out in the context of current knowledge and research on this topic. Results of this study are in Chapter 8.3 - Final summary analysis.
