Harmonisation of national accounting systems in the European Union

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na problematiku „Harmonizace národních účetních systémů v rámci Evropské unie“. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda Česká republika v souvislosti se vstupem do EU implementovala účetní direktivy Evropské unie do své účetní legislativy a že se harmonizace účetnictví v Evropské unii vyvíjí směrem ke světové harmonizaci. V práci jsou využity zejména metody analýzy a komparace legislativy a odborné literatury. V závěru jsem dospěla k názoru, že Česká republika implementovala požadavky čtvrté a sedmé direktivy do naší účetní legislativy. Další vývoj harmonizace účetní oblasti v Evropské unii se vyvíjí směrem k Mezinárodním standardům účetního výkaznictví. Ovšem s jejich zavedením v naší republice souvisí problémy, které jsem v práci uvedla, a které je nutné řešit, aby mohly být IFRS u nás úspěšně zavedeny. Práce podává doporučení, jakým způsobem je možné některé z problémů řešit.

Abstract:

The topic of the thesis is the issue of „Harmonization of the national accounting systems within the European Union framework“. The goal of the thesis is to determine whether the Czech Republic, after its accession to the EU, has implemented the European Union accounting directives into its accounting legislative, while the European Union accounting harmonization is geared towards worldwide harmonization. The thesis uses namely methods of analysis and comparison of legislative and professional literature. In the closing part, I have come to conclusion that the Czech Republic has implemented the requirements of the fourth and seventh directive into our accounting legislative. Further harmonization process of the EU accounting systems is oriented towards the International Financial Reporting Standards. Their implementation in the Czech Republic faces obstacles which I have listed in my thesis and which must be solved in order to implement the IFRS successfully in our country. The thesis provides recommendations for solution of some of the problems.
