Varying the intensity of visual stimulus on simple and complex reaction times of a selected group of students at the Department of Physical Education and Sports.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou vlivu různé intenzity vizuálního podnětu u studentů tělesné výchovy a sportu v Ústí nad Labem v agility testu. V teoretické části práci jsem se zaměřil na fyziologii oka, zpracování podnětu a přenos signálu. Dále jsem popsal reakční dobu, typy podnětů a faktory ovlivňující reakční dobu. Závěrečnou pasáž teoretické části jsem věnoval charakteristice slunečních brýlí a jejího rozdělení. V praktické části práce jsem se věnoval samotnému měření jednotlivých probandů. K výzkumu bylo použito zařízení na identifikaci reakční doby a příslušný software, který měřil reakční dobu při reakci na vizuální podnět. Cílem práce bylo ověřit vliv různé intenzity vizuálního podnětu na hodnotu reakční doby v agility testu u testovaných probandů. Na základě provedených měření a statistických výpočtů jsem došel k závěru, že vliv různé intenzity vizuálního podnětu je zanedbatelný. Z uvedeného hlediska konstatuji, že použití brýlí s různou intenzitou tmavého kontrastu není pro snížení reakční doby u studentů významná.

Abstract:

This dissertation investigates the effects of varying the intensity of visual stimulus on reaction times of a selected group of students at the Department of Physical Education and Sports in an agility test. The theoretical part considers the physiology of the human eye, including the processing of stimulus and signal transmission. Reaction time, types of stimuli and factors affecting the reaction time are described. The final section of the theoretical part outlines the characteristics of sunglasses and their categorisation. The practical part describes the experiment itself. A device for measuring reaction time and the appropriate software has been used to measure the reaction time to a visual stimulus. The aim was to test the effect of varying the intensity of visual stimulus on the reaction times in an agility test. Based on the observations and statistical analysis, it is shown that the effect of varying the intensity of visual stimulus is negligible. Therefore, it is concluded that the use of sunglasses of different levels of dark contrast does not have a significant impact on a student's reaction time.
