Phenomenology of disturbed body and mind

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na praktické využití fenomenologické metody v psychopatologii. Koncept je rozložen do dvou částí. V první, teoretické, je představena fenomenologická metoda a přístup k tělu. Druhá část následně aplikuje poznatky z první poloviny práce a také ze zahraniční literatury na vybraných příkladech psychopatologických jevů. Následuje zhodnocení této aplikace, která tkví především v alternativním přístupu k nemoci a samotnému pacientovi. Cílem práce je: seznámit čtenáře s fenomenologickým pojetím zdravého i porušeného těla a mysli, ukázat kritický pohled na současné paradigma a zhodnotit fenomenologický přístup. Přínos práce spočívá mimo jiné v připomenutí aktuálnosti a schopnosti fenomenologického přístupu apak především ve vyhodnocení současného přístupu psychopatologie a kognitivních věd jako nedostatečného. Odhalení těchto závěrů by mohlo být podstatným impulzem ke kritickému zamyšlení nad metodou a praxí současného přístupu k psychopatologickým jevům.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the practical use of the phenomenological method in psychopathology. There are two main parts of the thesis. In the first, theorethical part, the phenomenological method and approach to the body are introduced. In the second part of the thesis we can see applications of the findings from the first part of the thesis and from foreign literature on the selected cases of the psychopathological phenomena. Then follows an evaluation of this application, which primarily consists of the alternative approach to the disease and patient. The goal of the thesis is: to introduce readers to the phenomenological concepts of healthy and disturbed body and mind, to show critical view of the current paradigm and to evaluate the phenomenological approach. The contribution of the treatise lies, among other things, in the reminder of the topicality and suitability of the phenomenological approach and then especially in the evaluation of the current approach of psychopathology and cognitive sciences as insufficient. Revealing these conclusions could be a significant impulse for critical reflection on the method and practice of the current approach to psychopathological phenomena.
