The importance of cooperation of dentist and dental hygienist in patients with aggressive periodontitis

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá důležitostí efektivní spolupráce mezi zubním lékařem a dentální hygienistkou, konkrétně v souvislosti s pacienty trpícími agresivní parodontitidou. Práce disponuje teoretickou a praktickou částí. Teoretická část shrnuje dostupné informace o kompetencích dle odborných způsobilostí jednotlivých členů dentálního týmu, včetně dentální hygienistky a zubního lékaře. Dále rozebírá vhodné rozdělení výkonů mezi zubním lékařem a dentální hygienistkou v běžné praxi a poté také se zaměřením na léčbu pacientů s agresivní parodontitidou. Další kapitoly se věnují podmínkám a příčinám vzniku onemocnění agresivní parodontitidou, lze zde naleznout i stručný popis parodontu. Praktická část byla realizována pomocí dvou dotazníků, zvlášť pro dentální hygienistky a zvlášť pro zubní lékaře, a její součástí je analýza zjištěných výsledků. Cílem práce bylo poukázat na souvislost mezi úspěšností terapie agresivní parodontitidy a fungující spoluprací zubního lékaře s dentální hygienistkou a také zjistit nejčastější postupy při její léčbě od obou profesí.

Abstract:

The object of this bachelor thesis was to emphasize the importance of effective cooperation between dentist and dental hygienist, especially in patients with aggressive periodontitis. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part summarizes current status of dental team competences, including dentist and dental hygienist, and also describes optimal distribution of specialized interventions in common patients, as well as patients with aggressive periodontitis. Other parts are focused on determination of conditions and causes of aggressive periodontitis, there is also a brief description of periodontal tissues. The practical part was realized by using two different questionnaires for dental hygienists and dentists separately and its detailed analysis. The goal of this bachelor thesis was to point out to a correlation between aggressive periodontitis therapy success and functioning cooperation inside the dental team, as well as to find out about most common therapy processes in the dentist and dental hygienist work.
