Anisotropic shear strength of ruptures

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na zkoumání anizotropie rupturní pevnosti. Testovány byly jak reálné ruptury, tak i sádrové, přesně definované modely ruptur. Zkoušky probíhaly v 16 směrech. Sledovaná rupturní pevnost byla dle předpokladu anizotropní. Zkoušená reálná puklina vykazovala kumulaci vysokých hodnot pevnosti v jednom směru. To by mohlo nasvědčovat možné schodovité struktuře povrchu pukliny. U zlomů podobný trend nebyl zaznamenán. Zkoušené sádrové modely se zrcadlově souměrným rýhováním vykazovaly celkový trend vzrůstajících hodnot rupturní pevnosti v závislosti na zvětšování úhlu zkoušky (0°-90°). Tento trend porušoval směr 67,5°, kde byl zaznamenán pokles hodnot. To by mohlo naznačovat složitější závislost rýhování a směru namáhání u ruptur s výraznějším rýhováním. Pro obě části výzkumu byla zcela nově zpracována metodika, která se ukázala jako zdařilá a dále aplikovatelná.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on exploring anisotropy of rupture strength. Real ruptures were tested as well as well-defined models of ruptures made of gypsum. Tests were carried out in 16 directions. Monitored rupture strength was as it was expected anisotropic. A real crack, as it was tested, showed accumulation of high levels of rupture strength in one direction. This could suggest a possible stepwise structure of the surface of the crack. Concerning faults, no similar trend was observed. The tested gypsum models with specularly symmetrical striation showed overall trend of increasing values of rupture strength depending on the advanced angle of the test (0 ° - 90 °). Only direction 67.5 ° was deviated of the trend, where a decrease of values was recorded. This could indicate a more complex dependence of striation and direction of stress for ruptures with significant striation. For both parts of the research, it was developed completely new methodology, which proved to be successful and further applicable.
