Emotionality and Sociability at Gifted Preschoolers

Abstract:

Studie zkoumá emocionalitu a sociabilitu nadaných dětí ve věku 4 az 7 let. V teoretické cásti jsou shrnuty nejvýznamnější výzkumy a modely, se specifickým důrazem na oblast emoční a sociální. Za hlavní problémy nadaných detí jsou považovány perfekcionismus, zvýšená citlivost, problémy s vrstevníky a sociální izolace. Za pomoci dotazníku PDPCQ jsme v našem výzkumu identifikovali šest nadaných dětí (z celkového počtu 439 rozdaných dotazníků ve vybraných brněnských mateřských školách jich bylo vráceno 115 vyplněných). Studie byla pojata jako kvalitativní, hlavní metodou byla analýza rozhovorů provedených s rodiči a učiteli šesti nadaných dětí. Výše zmíněné problémy byly pozorovány u zkoumaných dětí, přítomnost problémů v emoční a sociální oblasti u nadaných dětí může být spojena i s faktory vnějšími, jakými jsou např. styl rodinné výchovy, pohlaví i počet sourozenců.

Abstract:

The study explores emotionality and sociability of gifted children at the age 4 7. In the theoretical part the most important researches and models are summarized, with the specific emphasis on the emotional and social area of development. Perfectionism, intense sensitivity, problems with the peers and social isolation are the main problems gifted children are dealing with. Using the questionnaire PDPCQ, six children were identified as gifted (from the whole number of 439 distributed questionnaires in selected kindergartens in Brno, 115 were returned as completed and aswered) in our study. The study was compiled as qualitative, the main method was analysing the interviews done with the parents and teachers of six gifted children. The problems mentioned hereinbefore were found as present at children in the research, external factors as parenting style, gender or number of siblings may be influencing prevalance of the problems in emotionality and sociability of gifted children.
