The Role of Managers in the Restructuring Process of the Company

Abstract:

Téma mojí BP spadá do oblasti managementu firmy. Zabývá se specifickou situací, kdy firma prochází zásadní proměnou - restrukturalizací. Cílem proměny je v první fázi záchrana společnosti před zánikem. Ve druhé fázi nastartování jejího dalšího úspěšného působení na trhu. V procesu restrukturalizace přísluší zásadní role členům managementu firmy a právě těmito rolemi se moje BP zabývá. Primárním důvodem k restrukturalizaci firmy často bývá její krize. Proto se právě krizi věnuji hned v úvodu teoretické části BP. Vysvětluji nejdůležitější pojmy, stavy a vazby, které jsou typické pro firmy na počátku jejich restrukturalizace. Pak rozebírám hlavní úkoly managementu v samotném průběhu procesu restrukturalizace. V druhé, praktické části BP se zaměřuji na rozbor konkrétních aspektů, které determinují roli manažerů a jimi vykonávané činnosti v procesu restrukturalizace. Vycházím z výsledků kvalitativního výzkumného šetření, provedeného mezi manažery, kteří se zabývají krizovou, rozvojovou nebo oběma fázemi procesu restrukturalizace. Ověřuji skutečný význam identifikovaných základních aspektů a jejich dopad na praktické řízení konkrétních restrukturalizačních projektů.

Abstract:

The topic of my Bachelor thesis falls within the area of company management. It deals with the specific situation when a company goes through a radical restructuring transformation. The goal of the first stage of the transformation is to save the company from dissolution. The objektive in the second stage is the initiation of its further successful operation in the market. The principal roles in the restructuring process belong to company managers and my Bachelor thesis focuses just on those. Crisis of a company is often the primary reason for its restructuring transformation. That is why I anatomize crisis immediately at the beginning of my thesis. I explain the most important concepts, situations and structures which are typical for companies at the beginning of the restructuring process. Then I analyse the main management tasks during the restructuring process. In the second, practical part of my Bachelor thesis, I analyse individual aspects which determine the roles of the managers and their activities during the restructuring process. The analysis is based on the results of a qualitative research carried on among the managers dealing with cisis, development or both stages of the restructuring process. I verify the significance and the real impact of the identified aspects on the practical management of the particular restructuring projects.
