The meaning and evaluation of tear film in contactology

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Význam a evaluace slzného filmu v kontaktologii se zabývá podrobným popisem slzného filmu a množstvím technik, kterými je možné určit jeho vlastnosti. Důležitou roli hrají také vybrané anatomické struktury, které mají souvislost se slzným filmem. Detailně je popsán slzný film, jeho funkce, produkce, dynamika a struktura. Metody pro vyšetření slzného filmu lze rozdělit do dvou skupin. Technikami z první skupiny se určuje kvantita slzného filmu. Z nich je pro tuto práci nejdůležitější zjištění výšky slzného menisku a Schirmerův test. Z druhé skupiny metod, které se zabývají kvalitou slzného filmu, se tato práce nejvíce zaměřuje na break-up-time testy. Poslední část teoretického oddílu je věnovaná tématu kontaktních čoček a jejich interakci se slzným filmem. Diplomová práce je zakončena praktickou částí, která prezentuje porovnání objektivních a subjektivních vyšetřovacích technik slzného filmu.

Abstract:

The thesis The meaning and evaluation of tear film in contactology deals with detailed description of tear film and a investigative methods which can be used to measure proprieties of tear film.There are described the basic anatomical stuctures which are related with tear film. The next chapter contains functions, production, dynamics and structure of tear film. The thesis also contains the list of the measurements, which are divided into two groups. A first group contains methods, which measure quantity of tear film. The Schirmer test and a high of tear meniscus are the most important method from the first group . A second group contains methods, which measure quality of tear film. For this thesis is beak-up-time test the most important from a second group The last part of theoretical section deals with contact lenses and also interaction between tear film and contact lenses. At the conclusion of thesis is practical part which is focused on comparation objective and subjective measurements of tear film.
