The most common crisis situations in persons with autism spectrum disorder

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá krizovými situacemi u osob s poruchou autistického spektra. Hlavním cílem výzkumného projektu diplomové práce je zjistit, s jakými nejčastějšími krizovými situacemi se setkávají osobní asistenti APLA–JM o.s. u osob s poruchou autistického spektra. Teoretická část obsahuje tři kapitoly. První kapitola se zabývá poruchami autistického spektra, vymezením pojmu, etiologií, charakteristikou jednotlivých poruch a diagnostikou. Druhá kapitola se věnuje krizovým situacím, problémovým chováním a možností zvládání problémového chování. Třetí kapitola vymezuje cíle sociálních služeb, uvádí základní znalosti o nestátních neziskových organizacích a občanském sdružení. Dále vysvětluje pojem osobní asistentce, uvádí základní doporučení při práci s osobami s poruchou autistického spektra a nespecifické rysy ovlivňující osobní asistenci. Čtvrtá kapitola se věnuje krizovým situacím, které zažili osobní asistenti u svých klientů. Pomocí čtyř ohniskových skupin, intervizí a analýzou prostudované literatury zjišťuje, s jakými krizovými situacemi se osobní asistenti u svých klientů setkali. Do jaké míry byli o možných krizových situacích informováni, jaké jsou nejčastější spouštěče a projevy klientů během těchto situací. Dále popisuje krizové scénáře a užitečnost tématu pro osobní asistenty. Na základě informací obsažených v ohniskových skupinách byla vypracována tabulka nejčastějších krizových situací.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with crisis situations in persons with autism spectrum disorder. The main objective of the research project thesis is to determine what the most common emergencies are experienced by personal assistants APLA-JM o.s. with individuals with autism spectrum disorder. The theoretical part contains three chapters. The first chapter deals with autism spectrum disorders, defining the term, etiology, characteristics of individual failures and diagnostics. The second chapter deals with crisis situations, problematic and aggressive behaviour and the possibility of managing behaviour. The third chapter defines the targets of social services, states the basic knowledge of nongovernmental organizations and civic associations. It also explains the concept of personal assistant, provides basic recommendations for working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders with non-specific characteristics affecting personal assistance. The fourth chapter deals with crisis situations, which have experienced personal assistants by their clients. By using intervention and analysis of literature we find out in the four focus groups what crisis situations have personal assistants met with by their clients. To what extent were they informed of the possible crisis situations, what are the most common triggers and symptoms of clients during these situations. It also describes the crisis scenarios and usefulness of the topic for personal assistants. On the basis of the information contained in the focus groups was drawn a chart of the most common emergencies.
