Abstract:

This thesis investigates and makes sense of the many aspects of crises and how financial institutions handle them. This includes evaluating risk variables, regulatory frameworks, communication methods, and the influence of technology improvements in order to identify, avoid, and mitigate financial crises. The goal is to examine and improve these techniques. This research attempts to enhance crisis management procedures in the financial industry by employing a case study methodology. A dedication to rigor and depth in negotiating the difficulties of crisis management in financial institutions is highlighted by the methodology that was adopted, which is based on the case study technique. This introduction lays out the goals and limits the study's scope, showcasing a commitment to high standards in research projects. In order to highlight the importance of crisis management procedures in financial institutions, the case study section of the article looks at relevant real-world instances. In particular, it explores the subsequent incidents: o 2007 - 2008 Global Financial crisis and its effects on financial institutions o 2019 Covid 19 pandemic o 2016 Indian banknote demonetization (500 and 1000 notes) In negotiating the intricacies of crisis management in financial institutions, the methodology that was used, which is based on the case study approach, emphasizes a commitment to rigor and depth. To show a commitment to quality in research activities, this introduction outlines the goals and limits the study's scope. The case study portion of the work looks at relevant real-world examples to highlight the importance of financial institutions' crisis management procedures. It investigates the subsequent instances in particular, The case study ends with an explanation of the dynamic interplay that shapes the course of financial institutions through external shocks, regulatory reactions, and institutional adaptations. Examining the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian banknote demonetization in 2016, and the financial crisis of 2007–2008 yields important insights into the adaptability, vulnerabilities, and transformative potential of financial institutions in promoting sustainable growth and managing adversity in a world growing more interconnected and uncertain by the day.
