Důležitou součástí každého města je jeho udržitelný rozvoj. Použití nových technologií může vést ke zlepšování kvality života v daném městě. Práce se zaměřuje na popis konceptu Smart City a jeho představení. Jako příklady se uvádějí koncepty ze zahraničí ale i z České republiky.
