The Deportation of a German minority from the Prachatice Region after the World War II

Abstract:

Téma diplomové práce je odsun německé menšiny z Československa po druhé světové válce z Prachatického okresu. Práce se zabývá okresem na počátku roku 1945, kdy lidé očekávali brzký konec války. S tím také souvisela otázka týkající se německé menšiny, jež byla v pohraničí početně zastoupena, a v některých oblastech tvořila většinu. Dále jsou zde rozebrány osoby, jež byly vyňaty z odsunu, a to z toho důvodu, že se jednalo o specialisty a odborníky, kteří byli nepostradatelní. Část práce je věnována sběrným střediskům, která se zde nacházela. Poslední část je věnována dokončení odsunu německé menšiny a hlavně také uskutečnění myšlenky přesunu zbylého německého obyvatelstva do vnitrozemí a osídlení opuštěného pohraničí, aby opět získalo český ráz.

Abstract:

The theme of this thesis is The Departure of the German minority from Czechoslovakia after the World War II. from Prachatice region. The work is dealing with the region at the beginning of 1945, when people expected an early end of the war. With this topic was also related the question about the German minority, which was numerically represented in the border regions, and in some areas they formed the majority. There are also discussed persons who have been exempted from deportation because they were specialists and experts who have been indispensable. One part of the work is devoted to the collection centers, which were situated in the Prachatice region. The last part is devoted to the completion of the deportation of the German minority and especially the realization of the idea of moving the remaining German population to inland settlements and regaining Czech character to deserted border area.
