Women with Visual Impairments as Mothers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o problematice ženy se zrakovým postižením v roli matky. Teoretická část nás nejprve uvede do problematiky ženy se zrakovým postižením jako matky, přiblíží a vymezí pojem zrakové postižení, jeho klasifikaci, etiologii a sociálně-psychologické aspekty. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na význam mateřské role v současnosti, což také souvisí se sociálním a psychologickým významem mateřské role. Představí nám definici mateřství a mateřské role, uvede několik milníků proměn mateřské role v historii. V poslední kapitole je vymezen pojem kvalita života v souvislosti s mateřstvím žen se zrakovým postižením. Taktéž nám přiblíží specifika těhotenství, porodu, dále také specifika péče a výchovy. Na závěr popíše podpůrné služby a kompenzační činitele. Praktická část představuje kvalitativní šetření realizované skrze polostrukturované rozhovory. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit a popsat, jak žena se zrakovým postižením vnímá naplnění mateřské role, na základě dat, analyzovaných dílčími analytickými postupy situační analýzy, přinášíme odpovědni na výzkumné otázky s doporučením pro praxi.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of a woman with visual impairment in the role of a mother. The theoretical part will first introduce us to the issue of a woman with visual impairment as a mother, will bring us closer, and define the concept of visual impairment, its classification, etiology, and socio-psychological aspects. The second chapter focuses on the importance of the maternal role in the present, which is also related to the social and psychological significance of the maternal role. It will introduce definitions of motherhood and the maternal role and introduce several milestones of transformations of the maternal role in history. The last chapter defines the concept of quality of life in connection with motherhood of women with visual impairment. It will bring us closer to the specifics of pregnancy, and childbirth, as well as the specifics of care and upbringing. Finally, it shall describe the support services and compensatory factors. The practical part is a qualitative survey carried out through semi-structured interviews. The research aimed to find out and describe how a woman with visual impairment perceives the fulfillment of the maternal role, based on data analyzed by partial analytical procedures of situational analysis, we bring answers to research questions with practice recommendations.
