Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o vzrůstajícím fenoménu zvaném multitasking, v kontextu jeho efektivity a dopadů na výkonnost, především u dětí, mladých, ale také u dospělých jedinců. Teoretická část se pokouší pojem multitasking vymezit. Zabývá se oblastmi kognitivní psychologie souvisejícími s multitaskingem. Především si však všímá základních zákonitostí procesu pozornosti. Doplňuje toto téma o nové náhledy spojující pozornost s kyberkulturou. Mapuje možnosti multitaskingu u předškolních dětí, zabývá se kvalitou jejich pozornosti z hlediska vyzrálosti jejich kognitivních funkcí. Všímá si genderové problematiky u předškolních dětí a zkoumá, zda rozdílnosti pohlaví mohou znamenat také rozdílnosti ve výkonnosti při multitaskingu. Zabývá se efektivitou multitaskingu a možnými faktory, pozitivními i negativními, se kterými se jedinec vykonávající dvě a více činnosti prostřednictvím multitaskingu v praxi musí vyrovnávat. Seznamuje s příčinou výrazně zvyšující se frekvence multitaskingu. Hledá nové možnosti především v mozkovém potenciálu, pomocí jeho neuroplasticity, které by mohly v budoucnu tento proces činit úspornějším z hlediska spotřeby lidských zdrojů. Práce je doplněna mnohými nástiny výzkumů v tomto kontextu. Uvedené studie se zamýšlí nad schopnostmi, či možnostmi k vykonávání efektivního multitaskingu a prognózami dosahu vlivů tohoto jevu pro budoucnost. Terénní experiment formou kvalitativního výzkumu mapuje u předškolních dětí efektivitu jedné z nejjednodušších forem multitaskingu (paralelní úlohy), oproti sériovým úlohám, které poté vzájemně porovnává.

Abstract:

This bachelor´s thesis deals with the phenomenon of multitasking in the context of its effectivity and its impacts on performance - mainly in the case of children and youth, but also of adults. The aim of the theoretical task is to define the term of mutlitasking. It deals with some areas of cognitive psychology related to multitasking. Primarily it is focused on the basic rules of the process of attention and supplements this topic with some new views which relate attention and cyberculture. It surveys the limits of multitasking for preschool children and inquires into the quality of their attention from the perspective of their cognitive functions. It also takes into account the gender issue and examines whether gender influences performance in multitasking. The effectivity of multitasking as well as other factors (positive or negative) are also addressed - those with which an individual involved in two or more activities (in multitasking) has to deal in practice. It also introduces the cause of notably increasing frequency of multitasking. New possibilities are searched for mainly in brain´s potential, due to its neuroplasticity, which could make this process more economical regarding the use of human resources. Our study is supplemented by several outlines of research in this area. The chosen studies ponder upon the capabilities and possibilities of effective multitasking as well as prognoses of its influence in the future. The field experiment based on qualitative research surveys the effectivity of one of the easiest forms of multitasking (parallel tasks) for preschool children and then contrasts it and compares with the serial tasks.
