Gender stereotypes in the work of secondary school's male and female teachers

Anotace:

Diplomová práce se zabývá genderovými stereotypy v práci učitele a učitelky na II. stupni ZŠ, s cílem blíže odhalit a analyzovat genderové stereotypy, které práci pedagogů a pedagožek ovlivňují. V teoretické části se práce věnuje vymezení základních pojmů, tzn. pojmu gender, přiblížení genderové problematiky z pohledu teorie strukturálně funkcionalistické a feministické sociologie. Dále objasňuje proces genderové socializace a utváření genderové identity i osvojení genderové role. Stěžejní část práce je zaměřena na genderové stereotypy v práci učitele a učitelky, na jejich projevy i možné důsledky na žáky a žákyně. Výzkumná část práce se věnuje konkrétním projevům genderových stereotypů v práci pedagogů a pedagožek na II. stupni ZŠ. K odhalení a dokumentování typických genderových stereotypů, jež se v práci vyučujících mohou projevovat, dále reprodukovat, posilovat či naopak oslabovat, práce využívá kvalitativní analýzu dat, získaných formou semistrukturovaných rozhovorů s učiteli a učitelkami na II. stupni ZŠ.

Abstract:

Thesis addresses gender stereotypes in the work of male and female teachers in secondary schools with a view to detect and analyze gender stereotypes which influence the work of teachers. In theory the thesis follows determination of basic concepts, i.e. concept gender, accession of gender problems from a view of structurally functionalist theory and feminist sociology. Thesis brings out process of gender socialization and formation of gender identity and also brings out an appropriation of gender role. Fundamental part of thesis is oriented towards gender stereotypes in the work of male and female teachers, their particular manifestation and possible consequences onto their pupils. Research part of thesis addresses factual manifestation of gender problems in the work of male and female teachers in secondary schools. For detection and documentation of typical gender stereotypes which can occur in the work of male and female teachers, which can reproduce and reinforce or again become weak, thesis uses qualitative analysis of data, gained by semi-structured interviews with secondary school's male and female teachers.
