Long-term domiciliary oxygen therapy from perspective of nurse and patient

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce, s názvem Dlouhodobá domácí oxygenoterapie z pohledu sestry a pacienta, je vytvořit návrh textu brožury pro dospělé pacienty s chronickou respirační insuficiencí. Teorie práce se stylem obsahu zaměřuje na nelékařský zdravotnický personál. Přehledově jej seznamuje s historií, principy, způsoby a cíli dlouhodobé léčby kyslíkem. Krátce srovnává situaci ohledně DDOT u nás a ve světě a poukazuje možné směry edukace pacienta s touto léčbou. Empirická část je zpracována metodou případové studie pomocí kazuistik dle modelu M. Gordon, které jsou využity jako zdroj pro stanovení nejčastějších ošetřovatelských problémů. Stanoveny byly dvojím způsobem: za využití taxonomie II NANDA International z pohledu sestry (například neefektivní vzorec dýchání, narušený vzorec spánku, úzkost) a ze subjektivního vnímání respondentů (například dušnost, poruchy spánku, strach). Další informace jsou získané pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru, který byl zaměřen na stav kognice, převážně paměti respondentů. Sebraná data jsem použila ke splnění hlavního cíle práce. Výstupem této práce jsou doporučení pro praxi a návrh textu brožurky pro dospělého pacienta s DDOT doplněné magnetem. Tento návrh textu je plánován pro uvedení do praxe.

Abstract:

The purpose of this bachelor thesis named Long-term Home Oxygen Therapy from the Nurse and Patient Perspective, is to create a draft text of brochure for adult patients with chronic respiratory insufficiency. Theory of thesis focuses by its style of content on non-medical healthcare professionals. It introduces by review to the history, principles, methods and goals of long-term oxygen therapy. It briefly compares the situation regarding LTOT in our country and in the world and points out possible directions of patient education with this treatment. The empirical part is elaborated by case study method using M. Gordon case reports, which are used as a source for determining the most common nursing problems. They were determined in two ways: using NANDA International taxonomy II from the nurse perspective (for example ineffective breathing pattern, disturbed sleep pattern, anxiety) and subjective perception of respondents (such as dyspnea, sleep disturbance, fear). Further information is obtained through a semi-structured interview that focused on the state of cognition, mostly the memory of respondents. I used the collected data to meet the main purpose of thesis. The output of this thesis are recommendations for the practice and draft text of brochure for an adult patient with LTOT completed with a magnet.This draft text is planned to be put into the practice.
