Cílem práce bylo vypracovat celkový morfologický popis topolu černého (Populus nigra L.) a pokusit se zjistit, které ze znaků uváděných v botanických určovacích klíčích mohou nejspolehlivěji sloužit k odlišení topolu černého od ostatních taxonů, zvláště topolu kanadského (Populus x canadensis Moench). Dissertation concentrates on the description of Populus nigra L. and on the selection of marks which help to tell Populus nigra L. from other species, mainly Populus x canadensis Moench.
