Teacher as a mentor and an intermediary of pronunciation in the schooling of german as a foreign language.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe and critically assess the teacher in the role of pronunciation model in teaching German as a foreign language. The thesis attempts to respond constructively to the present situation in Czech schools, where phonetics is not trained sufficiently. That is why the author tries to define the role of teacher that would lead to improvement of this situation. Among other things, the teacher's knowledge of both German and Czech phonetics and phonology systems and especially the differences between them is considered to be crucial. These differences are described on both segmental and suprasegmental levels. This comparison enables to specify phonetic features which are for Czech native speakers difficult to pronounce. The last part is dedicated to phonetic areas most problematic for native speakers of Czech. For each area suitable methods and exercises, that would eliminate or even prevent the above mentioned mistakes, are suggested. The only pronunciation model in such methods is the teacher.

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je popis a kritické zhodnocení úlohy učitele jakožto vzoru a zprostředkovatele výslovnosti ve výuce němčiny jako cizího jazyka. Práce si klade za cíl konstruktivně reagovat na současnou situaci na českých základních a středních školách, kdy není výuka fonetiky dostatečně reflektována. Autorka se proto snaží vymezit roli učitele ve výuce směrem ke zlepšení této situace. Mimo jiné zde vyžaduje od učitele orientaci v problematice fonetiky a fonologie německého a českého jazyka a to především oblastech, kde se tyto dva systémy liší. Tato místa také podrobněji vymezuje a to jak v segmentální, tak v suprasegmentální rovině. Na základě tohoto srovnání lze potom vyhodnotit, která místa působí českým rodilým mluvčím potíže. V poslední části práce autorka vybírá oblasti, kde dělají čeští rodilí mluvčí chyby nejčastěji. Ke každé této oblasti potom navrhuje vhodné postupy a cvičení vedoucí k odstranění těchto chyb, případně rovnou k jejich předcházení. Při těchto postupech figuruje jako vzor výslovnosti pouze učitel.
